Garda Lake marks the watershed of our journey, then Verona (the city of Romeo and Juliet) and the Po Valley, with Po River dominating and influencing the landscape, the habits, the way of thinking of people, before reaching Borgo Panigale (in the Land of Motors) for an unforgettable visit to one of the most famous motorcycle sanctuaries in the world, the Ducati museum and factory. We’ll continue in the Apennines, the classic surprise that you don’t expect, with roads that are often perfect and with not much traffic, with real architectural jewels that sometimes interrupt our competitive trance: Florence, Pisa, Lucca, what do you think? Tour stages
Day 1 arrival Milan
Highlights: MIlan
Welcome to the capital of design and fashion, if possible, we recommend you to visit it before leaving for our exciting motorcycle trip! We’ll meet at the hotel, you will have some free time to relax or to do some sightseeing before the safety briefing. Day 2 Milan - Livigno km 222
Highlights: Bellagio, Maloja pass, St. Moritz, Bernina pass, Livigno
Let’s start! The approach with the traffic of Milan and its hinterland is inevitable, welcome to Italy, a little patience and things will get better. A fast road will quickly bring us closer to Como Lake. Once crossed the lake with the ferry, arrived in Menaggio, we will skirt it for its entire length to the north, and then head towards Chiavenna, here we will enter Switzerland, crossing the spectacular Maloja pass, allowing ourselves a short stop in the worldly Saint Moritz , and then taking the Bernina pass, to close the tour and the feast of alpine passes with the Forcola pass that will allow us to get to Livigno.
Day 3 Livigno - Merano km 252
Highlights: Stelvio, Gavia Pass, Merano, Forst brewery
Another great day, the day of Stelvio, the highest and most famous car pass in Italy with its 2.757mt, the second highest in Europe, a true legend, one of the myths of European roads, we will get there from the Swiss side to hit then the Gavia pass towards Bormio and to attack the main character of the day. After that, everything will seem obvious: Tonale pass, even the road carved into the rock to reach Val d’Ullimo, a prelude to the end of the second day.
Day 4 Merano - Cortina D’Ampezzo 229 km
Highlights: Monte Giovo pass, Croce di Comelico pass, three peaks of Lavaredo, Misurina lake
Approaching-day to the Dolomites, the direction pushes us relentlessly to the east, but there is Monte Giovo pass to be tackled immediately to warm up the engines and tires. I traffic will not be too much, we’ll travel along state roads, 12, 49, up to San Candido, where we will turn southeast to completely bypass the block of the three peaks of Lavaredo and allowing ourselves a short stop on Lake Misurina, before arriving in Cortina, known as the "Queen of the Dolomites".
Day 5 Cortina D’Ampezzo - Riva Del Garda km 267
Highlights: Passo Giau, Passo Fedaia, Passo Rolle
We will start from the Giau pass, according to most, the most beautiful of this fantastic alpine area, and the Fedaia pass, which with the Marmolada glacier and its artificial lake, which is by far our favorite. The Rolle pass will allow us to push ourselves towards the south in an equally spectacular way, crossing the state road that will allow us to get to Trento, from where we will begin the approach to the day's goal, staying overnight on the northern shore of Lake Garda.
Day 6 Riva Del Garda- Bologna km 299
Highlights: Sirmione, Verona, Mantua
Starting from Riva in an easterly direction, to climb Mount Baldo, with its narrow streets with little traffic, where sometimes the view suddenly opens onto the lake below. Once we go down to the valley we will allow ourselves to visit the historical centers of Verona and Mantua. From here, we will head towards Bologna, the destination of the day, following for a stretch the bank of the river Po. The mountains and alpine lakes are now just a memory, there are not many alternatives, tomorrow we will face the Apennines.
Day 7 Bologna - Lucca 222 km
Highlights: Ducati Museum, Raticosa, Futa, Pisa, Lucca
The first part of the morning will be dedicated to the guided tour of the Ducati factory in Borgo Panigale, with the attached museum, a couple of hours really well spent. In the late morning we will go up to the Apennines. Between Bologna and Florence, near Scarperia, stands the Mugello racetrack, one of the most exciting stages of the MotoGP, we will travel the famous passes of the Raticosa and Futa. We will arrive in Florence probably in the most spectacular way possible, with the hills of Fiesole opening onto the city. The road calls, it’s the turn of Pisa with its leaning tower and Piazza dei Miracoli. The arrival will be in Lucca, a wonderful fortified city.
Day 8 Lucca - Milan 317 km
Highlights: Apuan Alps, Cisa
The Garfagnana state road runs along the Apuan Alps and it’s certainly one of the most relaxing and spectacular ways to cross the border between Tuscany and Liguria. Once we arrive in Aulla, our wheels will magically be on the Cisa state road, the legendary SS62, one of the most famous passes in the northern Apennines. Lots of curves, up to Fornovo di Taro, where the plain and the entrance to the motorway will interrupt our competitive trance!! Highway…highway…Milan…it’s really over!!

Best food experience
The typical dishes of Italian gastronomy and the flavors of tradition that combine taste and territory. Guide, naturally by motorbike, to regional cuisine:
One of the most loved dishes by Italians: his majesty the lasagna. Many regions have their own version, but the origin of this dish is certainly Emilian. Tradition has it that it is prepared with mixed meat sauce, tomato pulp and porous pastry at the right point to capture the sauce.
Suggested wine: Albana di Romagna.
