Read moreStarting from Rome, the route enters the heart of the Italian Apennines along winding, scenic, desolate roads that cut like razors these inaccessible mountains, the "backbone" of southern Italy. Stop in Montecassino, the scene of one of the most famous battles of the Second World War and home to one of the most famous Abbeys in the world, before continuing towards Basilicata. The New York Times defines it as "Italy's best-kept secret garden, revered for its beautiful beaches and ancient cities, to be visited before the world discovers it". You will visit and spend the night in Matera, the city of the "Stones", European Capital of Culture 2019, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a well-deserved fame due to a difficult history, but conquered thanks to the indisputable beauty of the site. You will then continue in an uncontaminated landscape, between grim mountains and depopulated villages that follow one another along the path towards the Tyrrhenian coast until you reach Maratea, where the statue of Christ the Redeemer stands, high on a spur of rock to dominate one of the stretches. most spectacular of the Tyrrhenian Sea. From here, along one of the most beautiful coastal roads in Italy, you will enter the Cilento National Park, the real surprise of this journey, with the ss18, to offer wild landscapes, breath-taking curves, on an almost perfect asphalt and with almost traffic. non-existent, how much beauty for a place that few know, get ready for the extraordinary!! At this point, the "only" Positano appeal will be missing, on the Amalfi Coast, which does not need any introduction. You will visit the splendid villages overlooking the sea and the ancient city of Pompeii, before returning to Rome, the "Eternal City". Due to the numerous possibilities for visiting the tourist attractions included in the itinerary, days of rest may be dedicated for more in-depth visits, please do not hesitate to request them at the time of booking.

Best food experience
The typical dishes of Italian gastronomy and the flavors of tradition that combine taste and territory. Guide, naturally by motorbike, to regional cuisine:
The crusco pepper is a typical Lucanian gastronomic specialty. It is a very particular preparation based on sweet peppers (often those from the city of Senise are used) which are first dried and then cooked in boiling oil for a few seconds. Their characteristic is their crunchiness (hence "cruschi"). In Basilicata they are often accompanied by a plate of cod.
Suggested wine: Taurasi.
